95 BMW 540i stalling

This last week my 540i started stalling while cruising. In higher gears the engine will cut out and immediately restart (basically a 65mph+ push start) with just a minor lurch and a flash of the check engine light. It doesn't seem to do it while the car is idling, only when in motion. Thoughts are fuel pump and fuel filter, but I figured I would ask if anyone has any other ideas before I fork out for a new pump.
 
Hard to say without driving it.
Does it re-start right away or take a second? When was the last time you replaced the plugs, fuel filter, etc...? If you remove the plugs are any a different color then the others (white/black)?

Is it a OBD2 car? Have you pulled the engine code and if so what is it?
