940B buzzing noise

I bought a Samsung 940B last week and after 5 days or so I noticed a buzzing sound so after check I exchanged it.

This new monitor does the same thing and after some playing I noticed that at a brightness above 75 the buzz goes away. Is this normal for a lot of LCDs? Do 940B owners have this same experience?

Samsung says to bring it back for exchange (refurb) any input on monitor noise would be good even if its just for your own monitor.

I've heard of a lot of cases of this with one of the Dell LCDs (including the fact it stops at a certain brightness). Never about the 940B though. Try RMAing it? This kind of reminds me of the lamp I have in my living room that creates a louder buzzing noise the lower you set it. Weird. 😕

Yes! It seems exactly like that lamp that makes a buzzing noise the lower its set.

SO: I adjusted my video card settings to be dimmer and then the 75% brightness setting of the monitor was dim enough for me to watch without hurting my eyes.
The problem seems to be with the monitor control for brightness and not the actual monitor brightness. It is certainly some kind of defect in the monitor or design but I am still going to keep it (the next one will be the same I think).

The card I am using is an ATI 9200 128MB SE with default colour scheme.

PS:

I read Samsung's warranty and they replace monitors with refurbs and:

The store I bought it from told me "we cannot replace it if it comes back for buzzing again"....kind of reminds me of their attitude a couple of years ago when I stopped buying and sending people to buy from them. Some things never change.

Really sorry to hear about ur 940B man. I have had mine for several months now and absolutely love it. Makes 0 decibals as far as i can tell. RMA it i guess. never hear of anyone else having this problem.
