Hey,
I was just wondering if anyone knew what the memory voltages were that the ASRock 939dual-SATA2 supplies. It gives the option of (i may be wrong, i'm trying to remember from an article i can't find) DRAM Voltage: High, Normal, and Auto. So really my question is what does "high" mean... would that be "ocz voltage extreme 3.3v" high or "hey check it out, by going to high i can get a full 1 MHz more!!1!" high?

or has anyone actually measured the voltage which would be even better :)

thanks

I think the AT review said that "High" was only about 2.8V or so - so not great, but better than nothing. If you're interested, people on other forums are supposedly working on a Vdimm mod for this board, and they've already gotten a working Vcore mod posted (tested up to 1.65V). The link to the mod thread is posted in my long thread about this motherboard. ;)

Thanks synth.

I was having a conversation today with my father about this subject and I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this subject: He says that since the board only has two options in the BIOS it may be possible that the hardware can only support those two and nothing in between. This would eliminate the chance that a BIOS update would ever include more vRAM (is that a word I just made up? i don't remember if i read this somewhere or not but it seems to work...) options.

Does anyone know if this board is like this, being limited to only two options for vRAM by hardware, or is were the programmers just being slightly lazy?

thanks in advance.

Bump for answer?
does anyone know if there will ever be a BIOS update that will allow more voltage to the RAM or is that a hardware thing?

There is a hard mod to increase the voltages, works but you need to be good with a soldering iron.

To be honest with you I don't expect them to come out with a BIOS that will give us any higher VDIMM. Bluetooth over at OCWB has stated that they will not as well. I tend to believe him as he has a relationship with ASRock.
