939 system up and running, few questions!

I just got my A8V rev2 and 939 3000+ up and running. I have 2x512 HyperX PC4000 and a 6800GT as well. Its running fine but i have a few overclocking questions. First thing that annoys me is it wont do 250 HTT 1:1 which is dumb because the hyperx is rated at 250. This is with the memory at 3-4-4-8 which are the rated timings, and with 2.8vdimm. Anyway i just switched to a DDR333 ratio and everything ran fine at 9x260 HTT for 2340mhz. My 3d01 score at these settings was 22.3k with the GT at 400/1100. Does this seem right? Ok well i tried to bump it up to 270fsb and windows wouldnt load, so i moved the Vcore from 1.5 to 1.6v, and it still wont load. It says it cannot find the system disk. I go back to 260HTT and it will load again. Does this mean ive hit the HTT limit of my board? They usually seem to go higher. Couple more questions. when i was reading up on A64 overclock i read alot about the HT multiplier of like 2x,3x,4x, etc. I didnt see these in bios but there is a setting for the hypertransport speeds of 200,400,600,800, and 1000. So would setting it to 1000mhz be the same as 5x HT multiplier, 800mhz the same as using a 4x HT multiplier, etc? Through all the above tests i talked about i had it set at 600mhz because i figured this would be a 3x HT multiplier which most of you said to use. Also, what should i set bank cycle time and bank idler timer be at? Mine are at 11 and 16 clocks respectively. thanks. Sorry if these are n00b questions, this is like learning OCing all over again 🙂

First, yes, the 1000, 800 etc are just saying 5x, 4x etc in a different way, just like the RAM adjustment 200(400) is 1:1 and 166(333) is actually a 5:6 divider. 133(266) is a 4:6 divider.

2nd, according to Anandtech your 4th RAM timing should be 10 so it would read 3-4-4-10 in the example you used.

OK thanks for that info. Yeah it seems my score should be around 24k at these settings. SO i guess ill lok around in bios and see what i can find. Ive used an A64 system for about two hours now total in my life so i really have no idea what im doing haha

Few thoughts:
1) How are your temps?
2) Good PS?, anand got up to 289 1:1 with your board but mentioned somewhere that a beefy PS made a difference
3) Are you using a SATA HDD? If so, have you tried using both the promise controlller and the via controller (I think via's uses black plugs and promise uses red plugs)? Even some boards that have working AGP/PCI locks can screw up the sata bus while overclocked.

Good luck.

The max the temps have hit is 43C load so im all set there. My PSU is a 550w aerocool with 30A on the 12v. No im not using an SATA Hdd
