I have been waiting for a while to jump to the 939 socket and finally newegg got the MSI Neo Plat, and now the 3500 has went from 416 to 459. Is there any reason for the almost 50 dollar price jump other than AMD finally has motherboard support? Did the price jump across the AMD 939 line or just to the 3500 (the 3500 was the only price I was watching)?

Thanks

the 3500+ is currently sold out in most places and its one of hte top selling cpu's out there. since demand for them is so high and availability is so low, most retailers have the chances of increasing its price tag.

They were down to $350 just a couple days ago, but now demand is higher than supply. There also may have been a 2-3week period where AMD was not sending out orders due to a switch to a new ordering system, if you believe the Inq.

Newegg has some kind or real-time pricing engine now that seems to adjust all prices in real time based on supply/demand.

edit: the 3800+ is still declining in price and has not seen an increase
