939 fx-53 code name clawhammer?

hey i've been checkin out my cpu(939 fx-53) with cpuid and i noticed that the processor code name is listed as Clawhammer....i thought all fx processors were codenamed sledgehammer? check out the link.

I think that Sledgehammer is the codename for the Opteron processors(2mb cache) and Clawhammer is the codename for the FX,Socket 754, and Socket 939 processors with 1mb cache. The others with 512kb cache are codenamed Newcastle

You are mostly right but the Opteron also has only 1MB of cache.

My S939 FX53 is listed in cpu-z as codename SledgeHammer.

My cpu-z version is 1.23 though, but I wouldn't think that would make a difference.

Might be that your mobo is falsely recognizing it as a Claw. What mobo do you have? I use the Asus A8V.

Other than the codename, my cpu-z information is identical.

yep i have an asus a8v deluxe/wifi-edition......did u get revision 2 instead?

i just downloaded cpu-z 1.22 and it lists my processor as a sledgehammer....err...this is weird
