so heres the thing... i have some crap mobo combo from frys... It happens to be an ECS... i get a lot of "Oh ECS is ******" and i read a couple of reviews too.... well i think it would be best if i upgrade it to the a good 939 socket mobo ... preferably one without a northbrdige fan ... TIA 🙂

The last combo deals Fry's had on the 3800+ X with the ESC board were AM2. I'm surprised they still had the 939. Try the Biostar Tforce boards. reasonable price, nice quality too, but no fans.

lol no i didnt get the combo recently ... i bought it when the 3800+ x2 came out... thats why i think i would need a new one ... just in case the mobo fails...

Probably the best 939 board ever made: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813136152

Most supported too. Check out www.dfi-street.com for some wonderful help and info.

You can mod this board to Sli very easily if want you.

Beware this is a twaekers board. The bios options can be intimidating, but there is alot of info available for setting it up. A high quality psu is required, >480 watts.

The board is built for high power so it uses beefy electronics, the bios has some great features.
