I have a 939 cpu and a 7800GT. I want to get a second one or SLI. Any major known problems with any major games current or pending?

Thanks

edit: running vista 32

None that I know of.
Also why not just get a single 8800GTS and overclock it, it won't need as much power draw, performs better, and I would bet less heat too. I mean considering you would probably pick up a 8800GTS for about another $100-$150 over buying another 7800GT

Hm, not a bad idea, but I think I couldn't sell my 7800gt for more than $90 and an 8800gts is at least 340 or so. So that means it would cost me about $250 to upgrade compared to $90 to get a used 7800GT.

Is my math right?

Actually you can get a 8800GTS at about $300 (including shipping; using newegg) and sames newegg only has one 7800GT brand which is $135.

8800GTS - http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814130082
7800GT - http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814130035

So I meant 300 - 140 = 160. Then if you could get someone to buy you card at let's say $100. 160 - 100 = 60

You can get yourself a 8800GTS for only $60 more than a 7800GT. Which isn't bad in my opinion.

Then if you choose to oc it you will have a card that performs better than the 7800GT in SLI.

I would bet that if nvidia does get their next gen (or refresh card) out at the november rumored date then I would imagine the prices would go down more.

All I can really say is just shop around. You will probably find cards cheaper than what they are at newegg.

Edit:
8800GTS over at ZZF free shipping $280.

Damn you, didn't know the 8800s were in the sub 300 range... choices choices...

Well the 8800gts 320 mb can be found for about around 280 maybe alittle less after rebate. Yea goign with a 8800gts would be a much better idea.

the 7800 GT sli setup definately is decent performance though. It will be a lot less hassle than selling your current card an mustering up the cash for the GTS. I would personally pick up another 7800 GT for around $80 in the f/s section. I personally have bought 4 this month.... lol. I turn around and make a good profit on the local scene 😀. The 2 cards should hold you over till early next year when the new big guns come out and the 8800's drop in price in the F/S section. Just my .02
