92mm Fan on SLK800

I know I saw someone posted that they mounted an 92mm Fan on the SLK800, Can anyone who has done this tell me what you did to mount the fan onto the heatsink? The mobo I want says I have to bend capacitors inorder to mount the SLK900U and I don't want damage anything attemping to fit a heatsink. Do I have to make custom clips or do i have to modify the existing clips? I would experiment on it but Its on order and wont be here for a few days.

Scoll to the bottom here. It may not be a perfect fit, but all 92mm fans that I have tried have fit. Depending on the fan, you might have to bend the clips on one side. They do bend easily. Try attaching a 92mm fan on the heatsink while it isn't on the cpu. You'll get the idea. 😉

Another option is this. 😀 That zalman bracket is around 6 bux at svc. I've been trying to find a good 120mm fan to use with it but all I've tried so far are too noisy even when using a fan controller. A ys tech 1200mm is on the way.

Also, scroll to the bottom here. Be sure the heatsink is pushed towards the rear. Otherwise it'll rest on the front plastic part and your cooling will not be good. Plus you could damage the cpu.

I fit a 92mm on my slk800, was a little bit of a struggle, but its alright. I put it on a diagonal to the heatsink, and the clips over the corners, and its on there pretty good 🙂

I put a 92mm panaflo on my slk800. I put it on the regular way. I had to play around with it to get it in just the right place and kind of force the clips on. It was solid.
