Wondering if anyone has tried using a 80 to 92mm adapter on 8045? Why you ask? You could get ~60CFM @35DB vs ~70CFM @50DB with the Delta Fan. Of course you'll lose some CFM through the adapter... maybe 10% I'm guessing... hmmm... now I'm thinking 120 to 80mm adapter ~100CFM @40DB with 25% loss ? Height becomes an issue... but I've got room...

I'm totally new to this so tell me if I'm missing something.
Feedback would be great!!

Don't have too much experience with adapters, but I think most adapters don't work too well, leaking airflow and interrupting it, etc.

the Alpha is supposed to be a pretty good sink. If you can't get the cooling you want with a decent 80 that isn't too loud, you might want to take a look at other solutions. Sometimes you can get the same end result with better case ventilation. It might be an easier and cheaper fix.
