92mm CPU cooler or 120mm?

I will get either Phenom 2 X4 or Athlon 2 X4, 790 GX mobo with onboard video. May overclock moderately if I learn how to. No gaming. Is 92mm CPU cooler good enough for me? Or do I really need 120mm?

My other setup is Q9300 + P45 with 92mm CPU cooler. No overclocking mainly because I don't know how to. It's quiet and cool. I just wonder if AMD X4 is as cool as Intel Core 2 quad.

My friend for sure go with 120mm. Its going to be quieter then a 92mm because it spins at less rpm,, gl

otherwise, newegg has periodic sale on xigmatek s1283 which is a decent cooler at worst by today's standards

Definitely 120mm. Much quieter, more efficient, lower rpms and etc.

I used the AC Freezer 7 pro which is 92mm in my mid tower case, even with sound proofing it sounds like a jet engine in 100% load. so I swap it for a hyper 212+, can't even hear it at full load. I say 120mm if you case can fit it. oh it runs cooler too.
