911 down in Chicago . . .

i read it as 911 is down(town) in chicago, or a meaning to that effect.
did know if that meant something unique to the area.

You have 5 seconds. Quick, what's your local police department's number? 911 being down is a HUGE deal in a city the size of Chicago. Still down btw.

not only do i not know my local police stations #, but i've never called it or looked it up either. If I went to the yellow pages I doubt I'd even know what section to look in either.

It's sad that they don't have a real contingency.

The system goes down more often than people realize (even the best ones). Having contingency is an absolute must when public safety is threatened.

Pretty sad state of affairs. Perhaps governments should be spending more money on public security instead of bombs.

How would I know?

I support 911 among many many other public safety systems somewhere in Canada.
