all 3000 and 3200 939 are 90nm. There is some confusion on the 3500's though as some are 130nm and some are 90nm.

That's what retail is.

RETAIL = retail heatsink + 3 year warranty
OEM = bare chip + 30 day warranty (if that)

OEM stands for "Original Equipment Manufacturer."

Hey Zebo, I noticed Newegg is doing the deal with FarCry but I can't seem to find it at mwave... how did you get it or do you have a sku I can search?

OK I think I figured it out. I got a Cached Google Page with the items in there and when you load it to cart it will save to an active cart that can be checked out.

Are the AMD 64 (939 socket) at mwave winchester or newcastle core?

I am looking at the 3500+ (939 socket) but it doesn't say which core it is. Thanks!

With the 3500+ you'll have to call/e-mail and find out because you have the older NewCastle core versions and the newer Winchester core versions, both of which are Socket 939.

With the 3000+ and 3200+ if it's a Socket 939 CPU, it's a Winchester core CPU. If it's a Socket 754 CPU, again, you'll have to call/e-mail and find out because there are NewCastle core and Clawhammer core CPUs in the Socket 754 variety for the 3000+ and 3200+

Peace

Hmmm, i am confused as well. However newegg sells two different AMD64 3500+ (939).

One is a 3500+ with newcastle core (939) with the price of $275 (retail box)
One is also a 3500+ with winchester core (939) with price of $309 retail box

Newegg linky to 3500+ cpu's

I dont know what the main difference between the two is. can anybody recommend which is a better core? thanks

The winchester has 90nm process.
The newcastle has 130 nm process.
Definately go with the winchester.

I don't see what's so confusing. On the 3500 it clearly says Process Technology: 130 nanometer, SOI (silicon-on-insulator) technology which is a newcastle. However both the 3000 and 3200 are winchester 90nm.

Darn ... are there any GOOD shops OUTSIDE California ?

Otherwise , it seems there's not enough of these pupies out there , everybody is jacking up price just like 6800GT pre Doom3 era.

I want 3200+ though , want to run it stock for 6 or so months and then OC it to 2.5 - 6 GHZ.
