I'm looking to upgrade from a GeForce2 MX400. I know any of these will improve preformance, but I am looking at $$ and the TV out function.

I want 1024x768 with vertical and hortizontal size adjustments, not just a over/under scan control.
Also dual view (NTSC and VGA at the same time) capability with a DVI output.

I would get the 9500pro, but for $200 (or close to) if you can find one that is a little steep for me. The 9000pro can be had for about half of that, but I'm concerned about preformance along with the above.

Whats the difference between the TV out of the 9000, 9000pro and the 9500pro?

How about this 9100/8500 deal?

You are right to be concerned about performance ... the 8500/9100 is a better card than the 9000. If you can't swing the 9500 Pro, then 9100 at half the price is very reasonable (the 9100 is just a rebranded 8500) ... but watch the clock speeds from the different manufacturers. It's not an issue on the 9500 Pro, but I know the 8500s varried widely (i.e. memory clocked anywhere from 275 to 183!)

I ordered thr 9100 from Newegg for $73 delivered.

If I don't like it I will eat the return shipping and restocking fee and get the 9600pro for $201 delivered.

It is hard to justify spending 2x what I spent on the MB itself!

You aren't going to get that with a Radeon, and even overscan is a registry hack with no adjustments. The TV output will be similar with those boards (pretty good for 480i)

The 9100 and the 9500pro will do 1024x768 TV out and I'm told by ATI and Sapphire that BOTH horitzonal and vertical size adjustments are ther even the manuals only mention horitzontal.

Anyway, I will know today since the card will be here.

I think the 9000 supports 1024x768 as well. Just remember that it will still be 480i output. 1024x768 will be full screen for games set to that resolution, but it will be scaled to 480i output(its pretty good for gaming via s-video actually). It is true about the horizontal and vertical adjustments, they were never very effective for me, so I had forgotten they were there...but you're right, they are there, sorry.

That's what I'm told even though the manual says different.
Isn't there much adjustment?

Its been awhile since I used it, but I remember being able to get my display more centered. Every TV handles NTSC signals and overscan differently so any observation I give , probably wont apply to your setup anyway. Your card is already coming so you'll just have to check it out. After ATI introduced "Theater Mode", I just use overscan and forgot all about the adjustments...theater mode with overscan for video, clone mode, 1024x768 no overscan for games. Worked great for me. The new Catalysts have more advanced TV options as well, but you'll still need to tweak your registry or use a tweaker to enable overscan support.
