900 TBird OC Failure

Hi All,

I have a 900mhz Athlon on an ABIT KT-7R with Micron PC133 Memory.

By increasing the FSB, I can only get to 107mhz before it locks up or fails on to POST.

So I tried unlocking my Multiplier by filling in the L1 Bridges. I used the Rear Window Defogger Grid repair solution, let it set, popped it back into the Board, and tried to increase my Multi from the BIOS (Board is Jumperless w/Softmenu)

Even if I set it to 9.5,10 etc, it always boots up to Multiplier = 9.

I assume that I obviously failed to connect my L1 Bridges properly? Or is there something else I am missing here?

I'm pretty new to the OC arena, so any help is appreicated.

With thanks,
Hayle

I think 900Mhz Tbirds just generally suck in overclocking. i could only get mine to 933Mhz stable before it crapped out.

That said, you obviously did not unlock the CPU.

Any other suggestion for a compound that might cose the bridge?

First I have to try to surgically remove that other crap. 🙁

I take it that kit uses conductive silver paint?
If so then just redo the bridges again ,you can remove that paint using a pin & lightly scratching it off or using a solvent. While your at it make sure the L1 contacts are clean too.
Like GtPrOjEcTX said though Tbirds 900 aren't good overclockers.
How about pluggin in a Duron 1.1Ghz & overclocking that? their dirt cheap atm🙂 (£22 here in the UK)
