900 Mhz Access point to work with 2.4 Ghz PCI Card?

Hi, I have been having some connection issues with my wireless lan setup. I only get like 20% connections and it is "not connnected" for a second every five seconds. I do a lot of online gaming and was wondering if buying a 2.4 GHZ card for my computer would help the connection or even work.

I have a linksys wireless AP, the old 900 MHZ one, paired with a Netgear Hub.

No, you'd need to replace your old HomeRF setup with both a card and access point. CompUSA sunday ad had some cheap belkin gear, and I've seen some card + acc pt bundles on Buy.com for around $150.
