900 Mhz Access point to work with 2.4 Ghz PCI Card?

Hi, I have been having some connection issues with my wireless lan setup. I only get like 20% connections and it is "not connnected" for a second every five seconds. I do a lot of online gaming and was wondering if buying a 2.4 GHZ card for my computer would help the connection or even work.

I have a linksys wireless AP, the old 900 MHZ one, paired with a Netgear Hub.

If your asking will a 2.4 client card work with a 900 Mhz card in Ad Hoc or AP then the answer is no.

No, i have it set up in infrastructure mode. The AP is 900 Mhz. No way to have it work.

Oh well.

If not. What would a good solution to geting better signals. new Antenna? New AP?
