$900 Budget for Lightest/Thinnest Notebook

Sharp is a big-time LCD panel manufacturer...top R&D spender in display tech...Samsung, LG and the rest of the korean junk heap just suck...

best bucks I ever spent. it has been going for 1 year with me, still running strong

Longkid: the OP doesn't want Apple's because of bad past experience (hardly a reason, but oh well ). I got over my grudges and now I prefer them.

Where did you get your dv1000. What was the price and configuration that you paid for.
