I'm just surprised they didn't call in the SWAT team with a couple MRAP's like they did with those barbershop guys.

As someone who owns a home I would demand that my elected officials do more to help shelter the poor and help them out of poverty or implement more shelters and or places where they can have refuge and get help. I am not adverse to seeing homeless people in my area and as someone who actually cares about people I would do what I could to help out. That is the problem with so many American's these days. It is the selfishness and total lack of empathy for people who are the most vulnerable and needy in our society that is getting worse as the years go by. They had a major news article that talked about how philanthropy is becoming more and more a thing of the past. The wealthy and rich use to give more to charity in years past and would do more to help the needy, but now a days you barely see them doing that much anymore. It has put a huge strain on large organizations that have been working to feed and shelter the poor and give them medical care. On top of that people always think "well they can just go to a shelter or a charity organization" but those are either few with very little room for many people, or they have had to shut down because people aren't giving anymore or donating to help keep them open.
I've done some work for charities and it's often surprising how limited are their resources. Room at the Inn for instance usually turns away more than it can help, and food banks are often within a couple days of running dry. Also, most permanant help is geared toward women and children. Seems like most communities are capable of running soup kitchens even with their limited tax revenue. However, any community doing so would draw homeless from all around; only if it was widespread would that work. In lieu of that, providing facilities for churches and charities to use would be a huge help and solve the same problem for the cost of utilities, maintenance and security.

Hey you useless moron, see my post before opening your stupid mouth.

Hey tard. Do you know anything about South Florida?

I used to live there and still have family there.

Those are DINO's. Democrat in name only.

Rich Politicians are all Republitard based like you and frequently use the Democrat party name just to get elected. Look at Christ. He switched from Republican name to try to get back into office. Didn't work for him this time but he sure tried. It works for many down there.

So you are the stupid one as usual.

The mayor (Jack Seiler) who's vigorously enforcing this ordinance is a Democrat. Gotta love the compassion.

Ft. Lauderdale government, just because I wanted to expose all the awful Republicans and their hate of the poor... Wait a tick...

Jack Seiler, Mayor, Democrat

Bruce Roberts, District 1, Republican

Dean Trantalis, District 2, Democrat

"A longtime champion of human rights and equality, Commissioner Trantalis previously served as Fort Lauderdale’s District II Commissioner and Vice Mayor from 2003 to 2006."

Bobby DuBose, District 3, Democrat (his replacement is being sworn in a few days)

"Commissioner DuBose has received several honors including being named as one of South Florida's 50 Most Powerful Black Professionals of 2011 by Legacy Magazine, as one of the recipients of the 2011 Ordinary People Doing Extra Ordinary Things by the Friends of Library, as one of Gold Coast Magazine’s, “40 under 40” Broward County Rising Stars, and Broward Young Democrats – Young Democrat of the Year. "

Romney Rogers, District 4 and Vice Mayor, Unknown (can't find much evidence of party affiliation)
Missed this. Good detective work!

No true Scotsman, eh?

You're such an idiot Dave. You're out of your league in just about any discussion in this forum, but luckily for you I hear Elmo is looking for somebody to practice the alphabet with.
