Where does a city hire cops that do not have a basic understanding of the law?
You just do not walk into someones house just because you feel like it.
This happens ALL the time.
For every one extremely lucky perfect situation where the lady is able to lock him in a basement, record on cell phone, or whatever there are 1000's of people who have their rights violated with no way to prove it.
“He dragged me, threw me across the chair, put handcuffs on me and just started calling me the ‘b’ name. He ridiculed me,” Green said.
An officer went into the basement and Green locked him inside …
she should have (and most likely would have in court) gotten much more than $95,000

Oh, no. This is just an isolated incident. One or two "bad eggs" shouldn't bring down the standing of the whole group. ALL allegations of police misconduct get vigorously investigated, and misdeeds get punished to the full extent of the law.
Bullshit. Good cops get reprimanded, and IMO, as long as there are bad cops there are no good cops (else they would arrest the bad cops).
In the past two fiscal years, the city has paid out $16.8 million in claims against the Police Department. City Council President Jack Young voted against this settlement and others, saying he is "tired of the Police Department bleeding money."
lol this lady is awesome. Hats off to her for being able to defend herself, and winning the case on top of that. Not often that happens, usually the cops win no matter what they did as it's their word against the citizen and a cop's word is usually taken more seriously.
It's nice to see an asshole cop get what he deserves. Not all cops are assholes, lot of them are nice, but the asshole ones really need to be weeded out.
