90 Degree fittings

Hey guys,

It's been a long time since I've watercooled a system. I'm going to bust out my old D5 or MCP355, my Apogee XT, and my Thermochill PA 120.3, but I want to do it cleanly this time.

I like the look that people have with straight tubes and 30/60/90 degree fittings. What fittings do people use? I'm looking at using compression fittings with Primochill white 1/2" ID tubing. Are they just 45 degree bends with compression fittings on both sides with some adapter between them?

Thanks in advance.

Note: I do know that tight bends can kill flowrate. I don't care. I'm using an H80 right now. I don't want performance. I won't overclock. I just want to watercool again. The urge has come back. I'm just going for quiet.

Really? No one? AT, after all these years of water cooling, no one wants to post about 90 bends? 😛

Amazing,,,, the silence is deafening. I've never used them other than the PEX 1/2" or the standard 3/8" copper as they flow better. I never bothered with the comp fittings for looks as I always used 1/2" barbs, 3/8" tubing and zip ties. I like the look and never a leak.

Around here it seems the kits have taken over.

lol... been quiet lately because water is becoming more and more of a luxury which people avoid then a hobby.

But i use 90 degree fittings.
I still have a lot of bitspower fittings, and koolance fittings.

With all the improvements water went though in the past years, id say the difference will be really small and moot so go with whatever u think looks the nicest.

At this point performance isnt going to help you on a modern processor as your going to be limited by voltage, and the only way to mitigate that voltage is sub ambient temps which water is not going to net you.

i've used bitspower fittings, straight, 45, and 90 degree barbs and compression fittings for years and have been very happy with them

I have a couple Bitspower 45 and 90 degree rotary barbs, they work really well. I also have some Koolance rotary angled fittings as well, they have worked too.

I haven't used compression fittings yet since when I started my WC build, I didn't have enough cash for compression. Now I do, but tearing down my loop and replacing all my barbs for compression just isn't worth it. Maybe my next major build.

I bought a set of 8 Bitspower rotary 90 degree fittings and every last one of them leaked. While I'm sure my experience is anything but typical, I'd be careful buying rotaries/other fittings with unnecessary moving parts.

Thanks guys for the replies. I decided to just forego the 90's and just go with the compression fittings and white primochill tubing.
