9 year old ups died

so my 9 year old apc beeped and smelled like burn.


im looking for a new one first choice would be

Ups Apc Back Ups Es 750va


i can get that for like 115$

when browsing i saw some other CDP brand thats cheaper and i can get a 900va for like 70$, but i never heard of it.

any help on this would be appreciated.

dont asume i know about this kind of stuff cuz im a nub in this subject!!

APC is virtually bulletproof. Never heard of the other company, but if they're selling something like that for $70... well, I wouldn't trust it with my old 386, nevermind anything worthwhile.

Caveat emptor.
 
Doesn't APC offer on their pages some refund for your old UPS?

But 8 years. I've not seen a battery to last even close that long.

We haven't either.
Any UPS you spend your money on should be well built.
Since a UPS is one of the components in-line to help protect your other hardware, don't "cheap out" when buying one.
Stick with APC or Tripp-Lite and you'll be fine.
Another tip would be to buy as much capacity as you can afford.
