Just realized this was a necro thread. Just read through the followup articles. Father's whole family sound like complete dirt bags, and the little girl unfortunately got caught up in their bullshit.

Surprised they got a first degree murder conviction as it doesn't seem like this was premeditated. She'll probably get life in prison, though she probably deserves to meet her maker.
