County Prosecutor Edward G. Holm said the boy probably will be required to undergo psychological testing and to attend disciplinary classes rather than be sentenced to juvenile detention.

"He will do some type of probation," Holm said. "A kid like that, we need to do some exams to find out what's wrong.

"When a 9-year-old runs off with a car, something is obviously haywire and we'll have to find out what it is."

ok wtf? where the hell are the parents while this 9 year old kid is jacking cars? i love how the article just talks about this kid as if he's just off on his own... lets bring the parents into this...

From the article it sounds more like the opportunity presented itself.

How many people here didn't know someone when they were that age that would have pulled something like that?

The younger brother of one of my friends was a little bastard like that, he turned out OK.

Must not have a lot to do over where he lives huh? Man that is insane... 9 years old is like what, third or fourth grade?

i didn't know anybody at that age that would steal a car... much less on probation.
