Watch this nine-second video. It appears to be graphic. Watch it again. What do you see?
What you see are detectives cornering a man with a rifle and gunning him down while he’s placing it on the ground, right?
Not so fast. Watch what takes place behind the suspect. A second detective is providing back-up and can see what the suspect is doing behind his back – reaching for a handgun.
The second detective yells “Gun!” before firing at the suspect, who was potentially waiting for the first detective to lower his firearm and approach before shooting him.

=snip=

The incident appears to have taken place in Chicago at least one year ago. [Update: Alternate accounts say it is a police training video. The video still brings up an important point about how appearances can be deceiving.]

I read the video description, apparently the suspect had a hand gun behind his back. From the video, I can tell he was reaching behind him for something. I do not believe this is the usual "cop kills innocent civilian" video that we see all too often, this was probobly justified.

Hate to agree with Dave, but the one cop was a little to quick to holster his weapon especially with the other gun still in the perpetrator's hand.

It's about the psychology of the situation. Take the sound out and the Usual Suspects would immediately claim this as evidence of murder by police. I watched the video without reading the text first and I was like "WTF they just murdered the guy" as my instantaneous reaction. Considering that a good many only need that reaction to convict it seems a timely thing to post. As far as the other gun I couldn't see it from the front, could you?

That was your first thought? My first thought was that it's fake. Who is holding the camera? It's moving, so it's obviously not a security video. This isn't something happening in the background of the video. If the person were a cop, they would be pointing a gun instead of pointing a camera. If the person were not a cop, they would probably not get involved in a police shootout. Logical conclusion -> some low budget re-enactment. Maybe it's the next Operation Repo.

Ladies and gentlemen, I believe the Obama administration and his handlers have released this fake video to stir up violence so he can declare martial law. Then he'll open the southern border so ebola can new world order the fema camps with black helicopters take our guns.

I've seen this vid before. Wasn't labeled as a training vid when I saw it, but it makes sense. But considering this is on ijreview, you can tell this article is basically a "why police are justified shooting unarmed black people".

Good theatre, now what cop puts his gun down before a perp is on the ground and cuffed.

This is a couple of years ago. I cannot find a definitive conclusion but I believe it is a training video. The Cops approach the suspect a little to quickly after the shooting and one Cop even holsters his weapon which is a no-no because you don't know if the suspect is just injured etc. I would agree that this is a training video.

Only 3 shots fired? Clearly not real. If it were a real situation, both officers would have emptied their magazines into him, and then not approached for a while in order to let him bleed out.
