Why is it sillly? Would it be silly to wish for native Linux applications instead of just Windows applications compatible with Linux throug WINE.
It would be better off to have true Windows 2000/XP applications rather than just properly written Win9X applications that run on Windows 2000/XP only through the backwards compatibility that Windows 2k/XP provide for emulating Win9X applications
What would be better? True OS/2 WARP applications, or Windows 3.1 applications that run on OS/2 WARP just because OS/2 WARP has backwards compatibility for Windows 3.1 applications. Of course true OS/2 WARP applications would be better. Same thing with Windows NT and Windows 9X.
