The 20 shots of vodka you drank for that drinking game you played afterwards?
dammit I knew someone would say that! No but really, no alcohol at all in the equation...
The 20 shots of vodka you drank for that drinking game you played afterwards?
sugar/carb overload? If its not the artificial MSG what is it in Chinese Food that always guaranteed headache for me next morning?
That's because it's not real 'Chinese' food. My parent's won't go into a Chinese takeaway's anymore, they hate the food that bad.sugar/carb overload?
99% of the things you'll find on the menu of a typical American chinese restaurant are pretty bad for you, it's just not because of the msg.
Do you get the same headaches when you eat fried chicken from fastfood places? Most places that serve fried chicken use msg in when they "marinate" their chicken to allow for the chicken to sit under heat lamps for up to 4 hours.
Artificial Colors
Artificial Flavorings
Artificial Sweeteners
Benzoate Preservatives
Brominated Vegetable Oil
High Fructose Corn Syrup
MSG
Olestra
Shortening, Hydrogenated and Partially Hydrogenated Oils
That list has ingredients that are included in 99.99% of all processed food, about half of which there is no real evidence to prove that they are harmful.
Cue the debate.
I try to avoid all that stuff. I'm not hardcore about it, but when given the choice, I usually take my food sans crap. Of course other times I take the Doritos :^P
I don't get the appeal of Doritos. I far prefer plain flavoured ruffle chips.
clearly you need to test this by eating a spoonful of MSG straight out of the jar.
report back, stat!![]()
I technically could actually test this as we have raw MSG crystals at home here that we could add to food. We almost never use it but the white power is sitting there in the kitchen downstairs.
it could be that your body reacts to a certain threshold of msg. but MSG occurs naturally in a lot of delicious foods. I believe its standard knowledge now that apart from the 5 tastes you have, there is the 6th, which is called 'umai', also known as the ability to taste msg.
Don't do it. It'll leave the foulest taste in your mouth, that takes forever to go away :^(
You know the taste of RAW msg?
Accent is pure MSG I believe. When I was young I sprinkled a bunch in my hand, and ate it. I had the taste in my mouth for hours.
Lol good luck eating in modern society without getting any of that.
That looks more like a list to scare people then anything.
so what do you eat? unseasoned meat and potatoes?I always get a kick out of people saying you can't eat without getting any of those things. Just eat natural...I can't remember the last time I had food with any of the things on that list in them. HFCS actually kills my stomach now the few times I eat food with it.
artificial colors, flavorings, sweeteners, corn syrup, vegetable oil, and MSG are all for sale on the store shelves as their own product.Even easier than remembering a list. If you cannot buy the ingredient that is listed as a product for sale on the store shelf as its own product, don't eat it. Sugar, flour, etc, all can be bought as products. I have yet to see dipotassium phosphate for sell in the spice rack section![]()

so what do you eat? unseasoned meat and potatoes?
Article = FUD
BVO is nasty, I'll give them that. HFCS is no fucking different to a human body than pure cane sugar, none of those possible "effects" mean shit; the point is Americans eat too much fucking sugar period, doesn't matter if it's HFCS, pure cane sugar, beet sugar, sugah sugah...
