9 Dots, 4 Lines

her209

No Lifer
You have 9 dots arranged like a rectangle:
  • ...
    ...
    ...
Without lifting your pen, draw four lines that cross all 9 dots.

If you know the answer, say that you know it and PM me.

I believe the three line solution is the same question without the "not picking up the pen" part isn't it?

That would be way to easy then.

Not if you say connect all the dots. Some people think they have to connect every dot to ... well... every dot.

Simple. Use a pencil.

Also, if you draw out to infitity, the angle with all other points becomes zero. So theoretically you could solve this with three lines.

So when does the second line begin?

Infinity 🙂

I've probably killed this thread...but you can also solve it with one line if you rotate the paper and keep the pen moving in the same direction

3-Line

done in three lines. you just need to have long enough paper and not so steep angles.

If the dots were say 1-2mm then you'd need a very long piece of paper for the 3line solution!

Funky stuff
