Damn! Good for him! And as to why this is buried in the Olympics section of ESPN, he broke a record held by an American. ;)

Well damn, I'm disappointed. I came in here expecting pics of a Jamaican girl who was 9.77/10

In recent memory, very few non-Americans have held it. 2 Canadians, a West German, and now a Jamaican.

Why did you bump it? You weren't even asking a question.

I apologize, but this is about the "World's Fastest Man." It's one of those titles in sports that's very unique, very important, but underappreciated IMHO.

I'm glad you think so highly about Canada, but you should check out your stats again, methinks.

Anyway, does anyone know how fast the 100m has been run by doped runners? I'm curious if a man can actually run much faster.

EDIT: according to the wikipedia Ben Johnson's time of 9.79 was the fastest ever until Montgomery broke it in 2002. I find that hard to believe.

I don't care about Canada except that my wife's from there. According to the ESPN link I gave, Percy Williams and Donovan Bailey both held the record at some point and were both Canadian. What was wrong about their data? Ben would've had it if he hadn't been caught.

What part was hard to believe? The 9.79 or that it took this long to "legally" break it. And, in that case, Montgomery's time might get erased as well.

I had read the bolded as "Very few americans' and then I was wondering where you got that from. :) My mistake.
