Some people are saying not to donate to tsunami relief because people in Indonesia and that area laughed at our loss in 9/11. How can you compare 3,000 people in 9/11 to over 150,000 in the tsunami? 3,000>150,000+? Are we more important than Asians, because we're American? This just shows me how retarded some people can be.

These are probably the same people that say "non-American lives" don't matter. Not joking-- people here have said that.

(And when there was a story about dogs in Iraq not being fed, some people made themselves feel better by explaining they were just Iraqi dogs. As if dogs have nationalities. )

Small minority?

If they laugh at the U.S why do thousands of westerns go there each year?

Who are "some people"?

We have the ability to help those in need; we should do it, irregardless of their race, creed, or color. Last I checked that was exactly what was happening.

I think somebody on this board said something along the lines of, "what's the point of helping?" and someone else said, "shouldn't we spending some of this on Florida?"

Some people on this board watch professional wrestling, too. Doesn't mean that they represent society at large.

OK people, stop comparing 9/11 to the tsunami. You cannot compare the two. One is a terrorist attack the other was triggered by a earthquake.

Umm, yeah.

It's not about the number, they are both tragedies. Many of the tsunami victims are very poor and I could not care less if they sent any money or even a kind thought to our 9/11 devestation. It does not affect my decision to donate to their need. I personally do not know a single person in person or print who subscribes to the thoughts in your post, btw. I recall the threads about not giving any $$ or aid, but they did not have a tie-in to 9/11.
