8xxx series CPUs

Anyone heard if a new bios will be needed for this new series of cpu? Got a 965 mobo with the latest bios but didn't see any mention of the new cpus.

Some motherboards will need a bios update to use the new wolfdale processors and some will not. You need to check with your MB manufacture and see if their latest bios supports the chip.

90% of the MB are still awaiting bios update. See NOTES.

I had to update my BIOS on the DFI Blood Iron board for my ES chips to work.

well the e8xxx uses 1333 bus, and your 965 board officially doesnt do 1333 bus.

i'd say some manufacturers might not even release an update for the board. i guess it depends on your board.
