I have a bunch of 8x cdr media unused. I've burned a few disks at 12x and seem to have no problems. Will I encounter problems later on with the disk life span or other problems if i continue burning this media at 12x?
possible, but i know people who have gone through entire spindles of 4x, burning it at 12x and have had zero problems. I doubt you will run into problems unless they are crap brands to begin with...
<spelling edit>
I've been burning at 12x onto 8x Maxell and Fuji media here at work. Doesn't seem to cause a problem. I don't know about the longevity of the data, tho.
