I've been considering a radeon 9700/9800 at some point but I see that they have 8x AGP. My current Abit motherboard only has a 4x AGP slot. How will this affect the card's performance?

Great.

I play most of my games at 1024x768 anyway cause the text gets too hard to read.

How about on a 2X board? I currently have a PIII-850 2X AGP. I'm planning to update in the Sprindale, but I thought a 9700Pro AIW would carry me through some woes. Or introduce me to some concerns?

It is a 2X/4X/8X card, and I'm almost positive my rig will run it (someone said they benched it on my MB). It won't be fast or economical, but it's upgradable for when I replace my MB.

Video cards are backwards compatible, but motherboards aren't.
