8x agp enabled help??

Hi, I'm wondering how to get 8x agp enabled on my asus a7n8x deluxe v2.0. In the bios it says it's enabled. I have a sapphire radeon 9800 pro 128mb ivdeo card. In advanced settings, under SMARTGART(tm) tab, in the AGP Settings section, the "Set AGP Speed" slider is at 4x and "Fast Write" is off. When I do "retest all" it sets it to 8x and fastwrite on, but then when i restart when it asks me to, and I check again, it's all back to 4x and fastwrite off.

I'm having the exact same problem with Catalyst 3.8. I have nForce2 board and Radeon 9700 Pro. It worked perfectly fine with Catalyst 3.7, but it would not run at AGP8X no matter what and I can't even enable fast write. Everytime I restart, it will just set it back to AGP4X.. :-/

Please help
 
i had that problem too. I reinstalled my mobo drivers and everything is fine.

i installed 3.8s on my friends new radeon 9600 and it was good to go.
