I'm very near to taking the plunge and building a new system. Through prior impulse buys (thanks to Hot Deals) I've already accumulated lots of the pieces, including 3 256MB sticks of Crucial PC2100 RAM. Having had a good experience with my existing Abit KR7A-Raid, I was looking at the Abit KX7333R, but have recently been considering the Epox 8RDA+ instead. If I go with the 8RDA+, which TBred makes the most sense for me? I'd like to try overclocking either a 1700+ or 2100+, but I'm not interested in buying new RAM to do so when I've already got 768MB laying around not doing anything. Is the Crucial RAM going to seriously hamper my overclocking potential? Which TBred makes the most sense in this situation?

Crucial RAM is high quality.. I'm running my Crucial PC2100 256mb (x2) at 192 MHz fsb. The only drawback is that your memory timings will be slower. I have mine running 6-3-3-3.0 since it is the only way to run the memory at such high speed with pc2100 modules.

If you want to keep your pc2100 as much as possible, go with the xp2100+ tbred, since you can use the higher multipliers and will not need to increase the fsb as much to achieve high clock speeds.

Take the guesswork out by buying a 2100+ Tbred B at Newegg.com for 95$ or 1700+ Tbred B for 46.99$
