I do not know why I did not do this long ago. Mem is now stable at 220fsb..wOOt!! If you have one of these boards and you overclock.. you should really look into doing the mod.
Board is now at 1.95 on vdd. It was at 1.65, and not stable above 200fsb.

Also, do not push things to far. I tried running at 225 and fu*ked up my registry, had to reinstall XP...grrrrr

How difficult is the mod? I've been thinking about doing it but I don't have soldering skills

it's not difficult if you use grabbers. i'm still testing stability with my board.

btw WA261, do you think the passive cooling on your nb is enough for that voltage? i'm hesistant to go higher than 1.85 with a zalman passive hs on mine, but i'm thinking about it. my board doesn't seem to like anything above 200fsb. still tweaking....

Are you guy's using variable resistors or a set value? and if a set value what is it?

Im set to 1.95 on a variable. I have one of my 80mm case fans blowing over the NB Zalman. That sucker gets so damn hot! The NB heats my cpu up to 40c without having the fan blow over the ZNB!! With fan i am at 35C. It makes a big difference.

does not look the best, but it works :)

alright I'm thinking about doing this, so is there a place where I can get a detailed idea on how to do this? I've been looking at 8rda.com, but it just shows a bunch of pictures.

Yesterday I successfully completed the solder job. My vdd is now at 1.76-1.78, however I still can't get my board stable at 200mhz. Other relevent info:

-slk 900 with ys tech variable speed maxed out
-iceberq on n bridge
-copper cooler on s bridge
-430 w antec true
-1700+ tbred b (not sure of week)
-512 pc3200 Samsung original

any suggestions?

a 15 turn variable resistor. I'm going to try upping my Nbridge voltage and see if that helps.

my original voltage was at 1.6 but I couldn't get anything over 194 mhz without being stable(and this with twinmos/windbond 3200) and A3 stepping on the NB. I did the mod with a set value resistor of 820 ohms, and now my voltage is at 1.82 -1.8, and clock is rock solid at 200mhz. I haven't tried anything higher though, but I probably could with this memory! The mod should be fairly easy if you have any soldering skills.
