Just installed a RADEON 7000 and upgraded the drivers for it from ATI.

Now the left audio channel is gone.... for good. I uninstalled the drivers for the video card, and reinstalled the drivers from EPOX (audio drivers), and still my left channel audio is out.

So.... question is... has anyone else run into this yet? This motherboard just keeps surprising me. What a gem.

You my friend, are a riot. Anyways, I guess I will try to help. Why are you using the drivers on the Epox CD por que? The latest 2.0 drivers from Nvidia are the correct and latest ones to use. After you install those, make sure to run the speaker wizard. I would tel lyou that if you are having sound problems, it is most likely driver related...but I'm probably wrong and it's the board.

Good luck with that, but I'm sure that junky board that is causing sooooo many people problems will find something else to mess up...silly junk board.

BTW - I'm assuming you fixed you KB issues if you have an OS installed?

Also, when are all those serious issues going to start popping up on this forum? So far I've only seen yours...and the other guy got his fixed. :)

Insane..... this motherboard is the riot. And no... this is a new board. Gee... this one actually works. Well except for this new lil surprise.

I of course used the current drivers from Epox.

Now unless you have a RADEON 7000 installed you are not of much help.... lets have you move on and rack up posts somewhere else.

Is it possible that the Radeon's driver installation included a DirectX package older than the one you previously had? It would only take a couple minutes to reinstall DirectX 8.1B. Download's here for Win2000 and I *think* it would work on WinXP, although WinXP comes with 8.1 already.

Are they the latest 2.0's from Nvidia? If not, you are using the wrong ones.

Well, I am using a 8500 in there right now, but I did originally have a AIW 7500 in there, and I had no such problems. Considering they all have the same drivers, my results should be no different.

The funny thing is when you have sound issues, your first thought is the board. Sounds like no matter what happens, you are going to blame the board. Why did you get another Epox if they are SOOOOOOOO bad? I thought you were done with the problematic, junky, crappy, impossible to setup or get working correctly Epox boards? What happened? Change of heart? Wanted to whine more? Just curious..

Problem solved. I installed an SBLIVE card.

Boy.. this board is SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET. (??????)

I'll try uninstalling the SBLIVE card and reset the onboard sound in BIOS later and see if there was a DirectX overinstall that was causing the problem. If that were the problem I am not sure why the reinstallation of the EPOX drivers would not have recognized that (if it were the case), and installed the correct version on reinstallation. But.... hey.... nobody's perfect right? I can't imagine the latest drivers from ATI would have an older version of DirectX, but ya never know.

Now on to some more tests. Boy I can hardly wait.
