New system sticks on detection of IDE devices... (code 75)

Can't seem to enter bios.

Thoughts?

Sometimes an old CD ROM will cause the IDE to hang on boot up. Try disconnecting everything from the IDE ports and see if it will boot to the floppy.

Changed Jumper to Cable select on CDRom (was set to master on IDE 2). That allowed drived to be detected.

Now I can get into Bios, but not much further.... Oh well, haven't fried it yet...

Will it boot to a floppy now? Is it an old CD ROM (like 3 or more years old)? What hard drive model are you using?

what do you have in the build? do not use slots 2&6, more info needed!
The HDD should be set to primary IDE-0

Yeah, and if one of the drives happens to be a Western Digital that has a Single-Drive jumper option, try that (consult label). There's also another rare nForce2/WD issue that can be cured by cutting wire1 and the ground wire adjacent to it, on the IDE cable.
