8RDA: Someone with one out of the case> I need info

Have a bulging capacitor. It's the one below the middle DIMM slot. I can't read what mine say's while it is mounted in the case and would rather have one on hand so I can remove it and replace it the same day. If someone has the 8RDA out of the case and can read the values from that particular capacitor, I would appreciate it.

If you can wait about five hours, i'll let you know. I took mine out of the case last night, but I'm at work now. I'll be back later, OK?

Hopefully, you just have a bad cap and the cap is not indicitive of other probs.

That would be cool thanks. So far everything seems to be fine and I don't see any leakage from any others (yet)

Cool. I should be home in about four hours-ish. When you say "below the middle DIIM slot" do you mean if I'm holding the board with the slots at the bottom right or with the slots on the left?

If you are looking at the board with the CPU socket being at top, the DIMMS will be to the right. The capacitor that has the problem is located below the middle DIMM slot, about 1", and near being inline with the middle DIMM slot. it is pretty much the only one in that location. There are some smaller ones that are next to the DIMM slots, but they set next to the DIMM slots, not in a position below them if you look at the 8RDA as described.

I assume you're talking about the big green cap, closest to you, dead in-line with the middle slot in this photo, right?

I am so glad all my cases from now on will have a filter in front. Believe it or not, I vacuum out all my rigs at least quarterly. Sheesh...lookit the dust!
