I don't have my motherboard in front of me, so help me out:

Regardless of what T-Bred B I put in my computer, ALL multipliers should be unlocked, correct? Someone's telling me that if I have a 1700+ in it I'll only get multipliers up to 12.5 and if I have a 2100+ in it I'll only get multipliers above 13. Is this true?

my 1700+ has access to all multipliers without any modding
my mobo is a Abit NF7-S Rev 1.2

I have an 8RDA+ and a 2100+ and multipliers go up to 13 by .5's and then to 24 by 1's. In other words, they are all unlocked.

edit: The multipliers go up to 14 by .5's then it is by 1's to 24

Thanks to both of you, but especially Vortex. That's what I thought, but I just wanted to check.

my tbred b 1800+ wont go past 12.5x mult on 8rda+ (it will let me select higher but they dont run without comp rebooting and defaulting to stock settings) but then i havent flashed to latest bios (stock bios) so maybe thats the issue

Could be. That's interesting though. I couldn't use anything past 12.5x anyway, though.

cow123 could be either that your cpu doesn't like to be oced or it could be the core voltage issue. on the 8rda+ you can fiddle w/ the core voltage settings. if you have a pc 2100 card, then your 133 settings would be good, but if you have a faster ddr ram, you can bump the fsb up and drop the multiplier to sync the ram. ie 166 fsb for pc 2700 sticks.

but i'm not sure how well the 1800+ overclocks. seems like 1700+ and 2100+ step Bs are the popular OC chips. you don't want to mess w/ a chip that doesn't OC well, and maybe fry it by putting in too much voltage to the core.

I think the chip (a 1700+ T-bred in a 8RDA+ that I just set up), just wouldn't go to 13. It autoadjusted to 100 mhz bus at a mult of 11 every time I tried. I am not moding the chip, so had to be happy with 200fsb * 11 :D

jombo nope, i was running 11*166 which was 1833mhz with 1.675v i put the fsb to 133, upped multiplier to 13.5 to give 1800mhz still at 1.675v and it wouldnt even post. it just reset and reverted to bios defaults

On my old 8RDA+ with the A3 NB I couldn't access >12.5x and would reset to default if I put anything above that.

Not sure with the new 8RDA+ I have now though.. no longer have the need to do that :D

well i flashed my bios to latest on 8rda+ and still wont let me go past 12.5x on my 1800+ xp so i guess there are multiplier limitations with this chip on this board unless you mod the chip or something
