Hello there.
I just go my new rig together, minus a new graphics card, and so I went ahead and used my old Kyro2 fo the time being, and installed winxp on the abomination(machine).
So, what happens is this :
There are conflicts in the system-units.
Before the sound card or nforce2 sound is installed, PCI-to-PCI-bridge says it lacks resources to work, and the vga-saver (which is the graphics driver by default since windows seems to lack support for the Kyro) collides like hail of comets (with something, presumably the PCI-to-PCI-bridge).
After sound-card or nforce2 drivers are installed, it is the system unit called AGP-something that collides and lacks resources to operate.
Installing kyro2-drivers seems impossible (installation is aborted halfway-thru, no matter if I try the vanilla drivers or the hercules ones.)
I have tried putting my two PCI-cards in different slots, since the motherboard manual says some PCI cards sitting in some slots can collide with the AGP-port.
No difference.
I have tried inactivating things in order for enough system resources to become free;
No difference.
I have tried installing windows cleanly 2 times,
No difference.
I have flashed the bios, no difference.
So finally I put an old geforce2MX card in the rig and reinstalled windows again.
Voilá, no conflicts or anything.
Is this kyro2-8rda-thinga known issue ??
