I'm awaiting my new Barton 2500+ and decided to update my 8rda+ bios from the 3305 to the 3827. I'm currently running a 2400xp at 2400mhz (12x200) with no problems what so ever. I wanted to update the bios to account for the faster Barton processor I am about to install. My problem is that the 3827 bios will not let me near 200mhz on my RAM no matter what timings I use. With the 3305 bios I can run at 2-2-3-11 @ 200mhz. I want to stay with the 3305 bios but will it hurt me (or even work) with the newer Bartons? Which bios revison do I need for Barton support?

Unless I'm mistaken, all of the BIOS revisions support Barton.

Excellent. Is there any reason for me to sacrifice the fsb to run the newer bios? Any major fixes with the 3827?

I don't know (my 8RDA+ had an unexpected failure at stock speeds) but hopefully someone can give you the straight scoop. Did you confirm that your memory voltage wasn't reset to something lower when the BIOS was updated, reducing your OC as a consequence? If so, stick it back up to 2.63V or 2.77V again. :)

Yeah, I checked all the voltages and upped them to their previous amounts and then some. The board wouldn't even post. Just lots of beeps. Oh well, my 2500+ comes in tommorow and if it runs fine on this bios then thats good enough for me.
