In WinXP, when you slide the volume control sliders, and release the mouse button, Windows makes a quiet "ding." But with the 8RDA+, using the onboard MCP-T sound, I get a really loud "BEEP" from my main speakers - it's the same frequency as would be made from the internal PC speaker. In fact, when I do make the changes, the PC speaker itself does beep at the same time. It's like the nForce2 just outputs the beep to both speakers. So, the questions are: why does the PC beep from the internal speaker at all when I make the changes to the volume? It's not done that in any other computer I've used. And why does the motherboard channel the beep to the main speakers as well?

But if you can add a "PC Speaker" volume control to your Sound Volume properties (not the nForce control panel!), you can then change the volume of the system beep, or mute it entirely.

That option doesn't appear in my Volume Control.
