well, i purchased an epox 8rda+. barton 2500 cpu and kingston pc3500 ram. when i try to set the speed to 1700 (200 fsb and mult 8.5) i get a failure to reboot upon exiting setup. i then have to use a stick of pc2100 to get the machine to boot again. clear cmos dosent help.

i boot with the pc2100 and then set the fsb to 133 and the multiplier to 8.5 and save settings and then reinstall pc3500. machine then boots with the pc3500. when i set the fsb to 166 and the multiplier to 8.0 and save the machine locks up and i have to reinstall the pc2100 and start over.

any suggestions as how to set this system up would be a big plus.

as an after thought the system will boot with the pc2100 with fsb 200 and multiplier 8.0 for 1600. didnt try any higher.

thanks in advance

one more bump for some input.

did some research and i guess my ram isnt working with this motherboard.

when i use kvr pc2100 i can get the unit to boot at 2300 using 200fsb and multiplier 11.5.

with the hyper x pc3500 the best i can do is 1463 at 133fsb and multiplier 11. when i bring the fsb up to even 140 the unit hangs on shutdown and i have to use the pc2100 again to reset bios.

tried using 2.7v, different memory settings and still no go. also have two pieces of ram and both do the same installed one at a time or together.

unless someone has any other ideas i guess ill have to buy some new ram.

thanks

heres all the info you need.

HyperX has Major issues with the 8rda+ board. I know from experiance as i couldnt get my pc3000 over 180fsb NO MATTER WHAT. I sold that sh*t for a 512mb stick of Twinmos/winbond ch-5 for $100, and am at 200fsb no prob now.
BTW the kid i sold the ram to used different board and hit 200 no prob.

Anyway read this. I suggest you get rid of your stuff or call and get new revision or rma

info
Huge thread

PS i was reading about a 024 revision on all there ram that cameout recently and a lot of people are rmaing there stuff for this with excellant results
