8RDA+, Alarm turn on

Will using this feature cause your HDD light to flash on and off at regular intervals (~1 second) when the computer is turned on? I just turned on the alarm wake up feature and after Windows has setteled for an hour or so the HDD light still flashes, Is that normal or do I have some program stealing resources (see none in the task manager.)
