8mm tape viewer?

Our 8mm camera is having problems and we're in process of transferring them onto computer to preserve them without a quality loss. Is there some cheap way to view them?

Worst come to worst, we'll get some cheap camera that can play them. Either something that plugs into VCR inside something that is shape of a vhs tape or something with s-video outputs

worst case, buy another 8mm camera from Sears and return it if you "decide that it doesn't work for you". I'm not sure they sell a 8mm "viewer" for normal use through a normal b&m retailer.

Any of the new Sony "Digital 8" camcorders can play back the old analog 8mm tapes. And the Digital 8 records in the same digital format as the MiniDV cameras, it just uses a different storage medium than the MiniDV tapes.

There is no adaptor that will allow you to play 8mm tapes in a regular VHS VCR. The JVC VHS-C format had adaptors like that, but because of the format, 8mm is incompatible with a VHS VCR even if you could remove the magnetic tape and put it into a VHS cassette.
