8MB of Cache necesary for external drives?

Now, I know the extra 6MB makes a sizeable difference when used internally with via SATA/ATA, but I was wondering if it made a difference when used with external drives. I am going to be using the Macally Firewire 400/USB2 AL enclosure, using firewire most of the time. Anyway, question is: Should I just get a 2mb cache drive, or are the 8 mb cache drives worth the extra bucks, preformance wise?

i suggest you read up on what cache is actually supposed to do...I get the feeling you aren't understanding it properly
