Hello,

I got an Epox 8KTA2 w/ a 900mhz tbird. I have the L1's connected with a pencil. I can do 9x , 10x and 10.5x but when I set the multiplier to 11x or 12x, it shows as 900mhz. It runs at 1050 @ default voltage stablely. So i'd like to push it to 1100mhz to test it. I had a KT7-RAID last week (which i returned) and with the same CPU I was able to clock it at 11x 1100mhz, it posted but didn't boot windows. Is it my pencil trick or is it the mobo/bios? Thanks

I think so. I read a review stating that it's possible but I haven't found that setting in the bios. Any ideas?

i would redo your pencil lines!!! i had the same problem, 8kta+, 900mhz, and it would acknowledge up to 10.5x, but if i set it to 11x it would boot at 900. i made the lines again and now it recognizes 11x and 11.5x (i can only get it 100% stable at 10.5x @1.85 volts but i decided to run it at 10x100 @1.75 volts to put less stress on the chip)

finally, someone with the same experience. Thank you, i've done the pencil trick 3 times already. So I guess i'll keep trying until i hit the magical 11. i'm stable at 1050 @ 1.775 vcore, actually, i'm still testing it. But i'd like to try 11x. Ok i'll let you know how it goes. Again, thanks.

I think you are experiencing the 'failsafe' mode of the BIOS. If the speed is too high,, the BIOS defaults to the original speed. Save yourself some time and possible trouble. Get the Loctite/Permatex Defogger repair kit #15067 and do the bridges once, and do 'em right. The kit costs $6.99 at Autozone or othe auto parts stores. Take your time, there's a thread here on how to do it. You'll never have to do it over.
