8KNXP problems

I just installed an 8KNXP. It seems to be a very good board, however the silly thing has 2 problems
First it continually beeps from the internal speaker once every second, this is after WinXP is up and running
Secondly, when I reboot, it runs through the boot screens and stops at the last screen, saying hard disk failure, then I get the blue screen saying fatal exception, yadda, yadda, yadda.
If I turn it off completely, it boots perfectly, then proceeds to
beep at 1 ~ 1 1/2 second intervals.
Gigabyte has no answer yet.
Anybody else got this problem or any ideas?

ATI 9700Pro
2 - 512 of Corsair XMS
4Maxtor ATA hard drives @ 60, 80, 2 100's

Sounds like a bad mobo or a bad bios. flash it, check and make sure all fan failure options are set properly. If you don't have a case fan connected to the case fan connector, and the bios is set to beep on failure, then it beep constantly. Same with all other fans.

I owned a 8KNXP for about a day, then I sold it because I got the MSI 865 board instead. I had that beeping too, and if I recall correctly, what cured it was to disable any and all temperature monitoring (system, CPU, NB) in the bios... Try that and see if that doesn't help!

I went up to MSI's website, but I can't find this board. Can you give me more information. I'm also wondering why you selected the board you did?

Thanks for the help.

It was the opposite for me. I had the MSI 865 board (bought it from newegg while they still carried it). It was nothing but trouble with high temp readings (80C on the CPU not even at full load!), mystery reboots, etc. I replaced it with the 8KNXP and have had no problems at all. Well, I did have that beeping problem until I disabled the alarms. 🙂
