I'm planning to oder an EPoX 8KHA+ mobo w/ AMD Athlon 1700+ cpu from newegg. Before I do i have some basic n00b Qs...plz help though :D

1. Are there any known incompatibilities between these two specific PSUs? If none are known, is there any difference/preference?
Antec ATX12V 350W & ENERMAX EG365P-VE( FC ) 350W.

2. How likely can I use my new parts w/o having to alter any BIOS changes/mods etc? I would like to start off having no problems and have normal usage ASAP.

Any other recommendations would be helpful...ThANKS!!!11

I did not have to do anything to my BIOS other then personal tweaks. I have set up two machines using this board and it was easy. One machine was my 1.2 Ghz Athlon (200 Mhz) and the other was an XP 1600. All I had to do was change one jumper for the XP Chip (from 100 Mhz FSB to 133 Mhz FSB).

As with any MOBO change I recommend a fresh install.

There is an old thread somewhere with BIOS tweaks for this board if you are interested in the future.

I bought my two boards from NewEgg. Some have reported having problems with this board but I think that was the first run. I really love this board, it was the easiest to set up/install. I thought such a cheap board would be a POS, man was I wrong.

If you have any questions PM me or post them here. I will help more if I can.

Im sorry I can not give you any advice on a power supply. Im using the one that came with my Enlight 7237s on both computers just fine.

until my enhance 350w comes from newegg...
i'm using a deer 300w which has 160w combined output.
given that my cpu is only 1ghz and yours is 1.47ghz... i'm sure your cpu will require more power.

but without unlocking the cpu... i was able to o/c by raising the fsb to 147 safely. which gives me 1111.
i haven't altered my bios on my 8kha+...
i have the revision 2 N+ from newegg refurb.

if my crappy deer can give me stability with 1.1ghz...
i'm sure either of these two psus will do just fine.

however... keep in mind ... with Antec ATX12v350w 3.3+5 is only 180w.
which meets the AMD requirement. but that doesn't give you much room for o/cing.

same story with enermax one that you listed... it' has 185w.

if you're not interested in o/cing... then these psus will do you just fine.
but if you're interested in moving your cpu to something more powerful... or
interested in o/cing... then i'd recommend that you get at leaset 200w on 3.3+5v.

if money is no concern... then look into chieftec 420w one.
if money is a concern... try enhance. they're very good for the money.
my enhance 350w has 220w at 3.3+5v... which is plenty.

First the PSUs are fine so no problems there so go with the cheapest, as for your second question they should work just fine (mine did) just remember to change the jumper on the motherboard to FSB 133 mhz,(the 100/133 FSB jumper),I would recommend you check onboard sound is disabled in bios if you`re using your own soundcard and USB devices are enabled in bios if you are using USB keyboard, mouse etc but most of the bios stuff can be tweaked later after install of OS.

You don`t say if you are going to do a clean install of OS but I recommend you do so.
